Funding

The Manitoba Partners for Addictions Awareness group provides funding to qualified organizations to help them promote the Manitoba Addictions Awareness Week, through local events and activities in which organization members or the public may participate.

To apply for funding through the MPAA, please complete a funding application form to provide the MAAW sub-committee with information about your event or activities, and how they are intended to raise awareness of addictions in Manitoba. See the Funding Guidelines below for more information on how these funds can be best used.

Funding Guidelines

When submitting your funding application, consider that;

  • Applications with little or no activity detail may not be considered.
  • Funds are not to be used for salary, staff travel or honorariums for activity participants.
  • Cash prizes using MPAA-dispersed funds should be avoided; gift certificates to appropriate businesses are a more acceptable option.
  • Events using MPAA funds may take place at another time than the planned Manitoba Addictions Awareness Week - the dates of these activities must be clearly stated on the funding application.
  • After the completion of your event or activity, a MAAW Funding Report must be filled out and returned to the MPAA, before December 15th, 2011.

Note: In order to be considered for the 2011 MAAW funding schedule, applications must be received on or before Friday, October 14th, 2011.
